Remember when we were in school?
If a guy/girl that you found attractive complimented you in a sexual way, it was great.
However, if that guy/girl was not someone you were attracted to, the sexual compliment came across as creepy and unwelcome.

Although is saddens me that people are THAT closed minded, I am not really bothered by it.

@ PIB and SDMR, it was a young couple (mid twenties). I think these things have more to do with exposure to different people, and less to do with generation.

I know this is an old topic, but I just read a profile that irked me.
I respect that many people on the site have colour/race preferences when choosing playmates.
But why is it important who your playmates play with when not playing with you?
The profile I just read asked that potential playmates be a certain colour (we are used to this no?) but the part that irked me was that they request that if you have ever played with people of other colours, or still play with people of other colours, please do not contact them.
This is the first time I have seen that kind of request.
These people will never get the wonderful opportunity of meeting us, never mind the many other great people on the site...

I think it is a very important topic, and just because the thread went off topic does not mean that you did not make people think about something effects many site members! I think many white people do not realise what it is like to constantly be on the receiving end of the "don't cross the race line" comment.
I don't think anything can be fully and completely dealt with when 'left alone'. In fact, the only way to guarantee that it remains an issue for many people is to pretend that we as South Africans no longer have race issues so many years into a democracy.
I think this topic will continue to come up again and again, because people are constantly being confronted with it when trying to arrange meets on this site.
Please continue to raise issues that are important to you, and comment on other forums!

About the adopting issue...
I think that if people talk about the race issue, and bring up the child in a loving family, the child will not have any more issues compared to any other adopted children.
When race is ignored, it becomes an issue. For that matter, when any potential problem is ignored, it becomes a real big problem at some stage.
I would rather see orphaned children in loving homes, than not being adopted at all because the parents and child's skin colours don't match.
About the racial line, its all about exposure and up bringing, and thinking about things for yourself.
As everyone has already mentioned.
But I think it is better to state your preference in a manner which is not offensive to other people. Rather say "this race only please" than "none of that race please".
