About
Why sex? Why do we have sex?
Like everything else we're passionate about, the roots run deep, tangled in the stems of our ancestors. Our bonobo cousins are more hung up on it, even than we are. But we all started from the same hungry place.
I've set up a couple of polls to let you express your opinion as you are reading through mine. You'll find them and see what others have said as you go along.
Other questions are worth considering. Why, even though they are often associated, do we find it so easy to let sex push love aside?
Answers about the power of sex, even buried under generations of civilizing manners, I believe to be simple, and we cause ourselves enormous pain, trying to deny what we know is true.
We do sex for the same reason we do anything else: Because we want to, and there's nothing strong enough in the way to stop us.
That's how we live our lives. The something "in the way" can be anything, but mainly, it'll be something we invented to keep things under control.
You can dress it up, if you want, putting a nice cover on to make it look more as we'd like, but it doesn't change the naked truth under the wrapper.
We want it. Bang! We go for it, unless something gets in our way. Like beliefs, fear or great big boyfriends.
Now, pour yourself a drink, settle back, and we'll take a little journey into why we have sex.
Why sex? Why do we have sex, and why do we like it so much? Coming up.
