Okay.... Access arrangements at the lake have changed as far as Fridays is concerned!! The normal entrance gates are now closed on Fridays, as well as the Saturdays and Sundays as previously. You now have to park in the car park off Airport Road (entrance as if you were going in to the High School, then take the access road parallel with Airport Road), park and walk in. This has SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the number of people visiting the lake on Friday (comparing this afternoon with a previous Friday afternoon visit). You now don't have all the drive-arounds and guys sitting in the parked cars. There were just exactly 2 of them sitting parked just off the access road, checking out who was coming in.
What it also does is makes the lake park area a LOT quieter, especially if you head away from the gate and up towards the golf course end (between 12 and 1 today there was NOBODY around that area, just a few guys having lunch at one of the lapas close to the gate, and then an "adventurous" black couple who walked in and down to the water, but didn't stay long or get up to anything while they were there). So that means it would be easier to find each other, provided the meet has been arranged, and that activities would be more exposed (people can't hide away in or behind cars...!).
Apparently access on Mondays to Thursday will be drive-in as usual.
