Cape Town: Sandy Bay

Never been to Sandy Bay before. Looking to try it out over the festive season... Not sure about the kind of people that go there and also if hooking up is frowned upon - would anyone be able to share their experiences?

I have been going to Sandy bay since forever. But it is not the same place as it used to be. Just be aware that different ppl go there for different reasons and my advice is to just accept that principle. You will find a whole smorgarsbord of activities going on there. You gonna get wankers perving you, don't get upset. There are gonna be a whole breed of folk who are obviously not there to get a tan... just accept that. There are gonna be some folk playing in the bushes, accept that. I DON"T think it is a place for children any more. The "family naturist beach" tag just doesn't fit anymore. So ya, go there with an open mind and let everyone enjoy it for their own particular reason. There was a mugging there a few weeks back so rather not walk along the path on your own. Join a group.

Thanks for the explanation, I think it sums it up nicely... Will probably wait until I can bring a lady friend just to avoid being labeled a bush tugger smile

Went to Sandy Bay today... Can't say I was too impressed - very quite... but there was a bit of wind and it was Monday... Still got some sun on the bum and look forward to heading out that way again smile
