Hi Bodyhunter, Last time I popped in to Brakpan Dam at about 18h15 one evening (about three weeks back), I found that they now have a guard at the main entrance gate, and the gate is "closed" at 18h00, to limit after-hours access into the site. Apparently fishermen who belong to the local club can still access the site after 18h00, but have to be able to produce their club membership card (the gate guard showed me an example). When I asked why the gates were being closed after hours, he told me it was to curb "prostitution". Obviously, people who have gone in before 18h00 are let out by the guard. He allowed me in to have a "quick look" when I pleaded with him. Does anyone have any more recent info? Is the site still closed at night? Are there "ways and means" of getting past the gate guard?
