Hi all
After some years on the site and more years in the Lifestyle, living in the EC has become a bit of a drag when it comes to swinging.
Last year a relatively new (and lovely) couple tried to start up a small party group in PE, to which we were invited.
We were so happy with what a small party group could offer us and were delighted to meet so many lovely people and have some nice fun in a safe and controlled environment. And boy did it make the whole scene feel a lot less like trying to find a date again!
Sadly, after only a few get-togethers, our hosts changed their mind about the whole idea and backed off on their plan...
Much to our disappointment
Unfortunately their decision to stop, also caused a lot of other relatively new folk to panic and leave the community as well.
This saddened me a lot and I realised that a lot of people just need a safe place to try this stuff out, to see if they really want to swing or not. Hanging around on the site for months or years is never going to help one decide. No wonder the largest portion of EC members are a bit gun-shy and indecisive.
Recently after a lot of thought, I decided to dust off my old Events Management business/skills and try to create something for EC Swingers that won't be affected by changes in personal situations within the membership - and commit that no matter whether I continue to participate, I'll continue the service regardless .
So this is where we're at: I've sent out a lot of invites to established and seasoned swingers, people we know and people we've been given good references for, and asked those folk to pass on the invite to people they know are genuine too.
So far (in just a week or two) I have over 30 people, who've indicated interest, on my list and it's growing by a few each day that goes by.
Our "interested" list is now at the point where we seriously need to start organising Meets so that people can be verified and signed up as approved to receive play party invites.
But we have a HUGE PROBLEM: No venues!
ECSPC is looking for venues in the Eastern Cape for both play and social meets.
Venues can be anywhere in the area from East London to Jefferies Bay - including all the spots in between (Port Elizabeth, Kenton & Port Alfred); and ANYWHERE in-land between.
We are looking for restaurants and pub type places that have event rooms or sections for hire - for social gatherings, and meet & greets.
We are looking for private spaces like holiday apartments & houses and venues for play events. If you have such a place for hire or know of one (anything that can accommodate 6 people and up), please let us know - from minimal right up to luxury spaces with hot-tubs, pools & Jacuzzi's etc.
We have a very broad range of types of parties and events we want to/have been asked to arrange.
We are also interested in hearing from Guesthousesand the like that are willing to offer us a deal for space which includes catering, accommodation deals etc. in off-season for our club.
We are not looking for private homes (where people actually live), for this purpose. Although If you wish to host parties yourself, we certainly have the mechanism for providing you a list of vetted and screened possible invitees (No more no-shows! Yay!)
The Party Planner will handle all payments for hire up front and protect the identity and security of all parties (members/venue owners) involved in the transactions and guarantee the cleanliness and so forth of the venue on hand-back.
In the long term we are aiming to open an exclusive venue, centrally situated for a private club (which may take a year or so), in the meantime however, we need to find venues to offer events in across the region and would be most grateful to strike up discussions with anyone who feels they are able to assist.
Please DO NOT POST CONTACT INFORMATION OR NAMES OF ESTABLISHMENTS in the forum - rather PM me if you want to contribute or assist.
You are welcome to post here if you are willing or able to assist; or if you have ideas or if you want to get onto the ECSPC list; I will contact you directly if I see posts here to that effect.
What do you think guys? Can we make this work?
