Ay, I have a touch screen and I touched that like on facebook thing. FUCK! Everyone(friends and family) christian and parents board just saw it on my facebook profile. Gawd why is it even on the site?? I'm getting asked left, right and centre bout it. How am I going to show my face at kid's school ay. I really don't think the like button is a good idea. Can't we put it somewhere else, so that we can make a conscious choice? I am so screwed!

better yet, lets start a petition to ban facebook form the world.
Sorry to hear this happened to you, just plead ignorance. And just say it must have been a virus or pop up or something like that!
Gawd, my inbox is full. I can't believe this!
So, so sorry Kitty!!! I totally agree with you - having the "Like" button there is just trouble waiting to happen!!! I questioned its relevance and desirability from day one!! I avoid that area of my screen like the plague!!!!! As SDMR suggests, it must have been a "virus"!
Site mods must remove it. I go through a straining process of logging out of every single social network site I am on before logging in because of this, with the hope that even if I press by mistake it won't pop up on and page of mine. I do not own a naughty twitter or facebook account and don't want to either. Apologies Sofistikitty. Reading this has made my fear levels increase ten fold.
Ek is so so jammer vir jou!! Dis vir my ook ongelooflik frustrerend. My touch screen se skerm haak partykeer en dan moet ek eers mooi kyk waar die pyltjie is voor ek iets druk. Ek het geweet so iets gaan gebeur! Ek sal daai petisie met liefde ondersteun. As jy regtig dit op fb wil share kan jy gaan soek vir daai knoppie. Ek dink ook dit hoort nie op die "home page" nie!!

It's there where the home button is. I must have intentional clicked home, but touched the like button. I wouldn't have known- my friend called me to tell me! I dunno where to hide my face. My gran is on fb! Oh gawd!

Just to point out - the mods (assistants) are powerless to remove it, only site admin (the owners) can. The issue was raised by and amongst the mods when it first appeared. Admin felt that there was benefit to the site to have it there. Maybe benefit to the site, but apparently not to individual members!!!!.... as has just been experienced by Sofistikitty :-(

Look, they can keep it on- but not here where it's easy to click it by mistake. I mean if I wanted everyone to know I'm a swinger, I wouldn't have needed an alias and would have put face pics all over my profile. I'm so upset sad we all know that people are not open minded and this lifestyle is frowned upon by many. I am now "out of the closet" and not by choice. This really sucks.
Kitty, that is the worst! It's part of the reason I have logged off this site on all devices (Also android). Yes that means i have to log in if i have a comment to make, or to check my mail. But I am no longer logged in for general browsing of the site. Admin didn't consider the adverse affects that button, placed where it is, could have on the users of the site.
You have my vote, remove it, Why is it not on the Australia site
Sorry to read about this whole debacle. With the cat out of the bag...just ask (with eyebrows raised of course)...*What cat* as anyone`s finger can slip and yes you have browsed there/here, you are after all curious about life anyway, not so....do they not browse around on their pc`s ?? Show me one person who has not browsed a little naughty site at least at one time in their life...just to also know what it is about naughty sites that everyone is blustering about. This slip-up, can be a so called *virus*(good one that) or what ever, but this slip up happened. Just continue being yourself, if they like you for you, they, who ever they might be, will accept you as you are. I am myself not on Facebook due to its VERY large security risk. ANYONE can just peak into your life and people just willy nilly post about their life on there on a daily basis with out thinking about the risk it opens up.I find on being on these kind of sites way more risk free really. Yeah using an alias is way way better than using your real name. Although I do not mind giving my real name to someone when I consider you a *friend* Cyber hugs...
The simple answer is to remove yourself from ANY social media site you belong to. There is a price to pay for social media and I'm not prepared to pay it. That price is information, YOURS. Facebook tracks you AFTER you have logged out and tracks what pages you click on. Same with , and all the rest. No such thing as free people as no doubt a lot of you have found out. Suckerberg bought for a billion dollars and you still mean to tell me it's going to be a free service ?. You use data charges to send AND receive the messages. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.

I am curious as to why, 3+ days later, only one Mod has commented on this thread? With no response from Admin. Do they perhaps think that the various members expressing their disappointment / disapproval does not warrant input?
Thats my feeling to that they agree or to scare to differ with admin. This would never happened overseas because there the members have a input. Must rather held my opinion for my self because i threaded to be ban

Even if the majority of the mods agree with it, they should at least be interacting with the thread.
To be honest, I don't really care either way, it makes no difference to me. The moderators have already had a discussion about the issue amongst themselves, I'm not sure what the final word was. I can alert Admin if you like. I know they don't check forums as often as we do.
As has been previously mentioned the Mod's had a discussion with Admin regarding this. Admin provided an explanation and maintained their decision to implement this change. Admin has already provided their point of view on the subject, in the forum post "F Like share - what is this" http://www.swingingheaven.za.com/grxaxnVYp1kR00W2

Android can be unlinked. It is safer that way. Unless I actually log onto facebook (once a week or six) I'm not there luckily.
What should be more concerning is that many people have g-mail accounts for mobility and to sync, with google's business service there are some massive multinationals that use the infrastructure centred around and he plus have their e-mail accounts under their domain but in effect being a g-mail account, which comes with google plus, so many employees are on google's various bits and pieces without realising it, the google equivalent of the "like" icon is already becoming common. That can have very severe repercussions. Facebook is at least partially limited to social, your e-mail is set in your professional capacity where the fallout can be horrendous.
MIKE_ thanks for your reply, but can the "like" icons not be moved to say next to the "search" icon, or between the "dogging" and "forum" icon or so?
I have asked Admin to please reply to this post.. Let's see what he has to say..

As you say, most people on this and other swinging sites take precautions to ensure that their sexlives stay private, what we do in our bedroom has nothing to do with anyone unless they are directly involved. Some people are totally open about their swinging, if they want to like the site openly on FB or any other media, then let them, but the majority of us want to keep it private.

We have set up a page for this site on Facebook
Many people have Facebook accounts, in fact many into this lifestyle have one for family and friends and another for swinging, hitting the Like here is just a vote for this site on Facebook and has nothing to do with privacy, photos or similar, those that don't wish to click on Like do not have to, but there will be those that do and that will help the site.
Its actually no different to having a link back to here from another site, of course only those with a private Facebook account that they used for this part of their lifestyle would be likely to click on Like.
We have had links like this on our Australian site http://www.swingersheaven.com.au/ for years and nobody has had any issues with them at all.
The fact of the matter is that having Facebook/ likes helps the site to rank better as it provides social signals to the Google and other search engines.

It's deeply regrettable Sofistikitty that in error the Facebook buttons caused you such grievance and I'm genuinely sorry for that.
Could everyone please note that if in the future you inadvertently click the 'Like' option, all you have to do is click it again to remove the 'Like'.
Thank you Griff, much appreciated for moving the buttons out of "harms way" ;)
Thanks Griff for your explanation and yes i think we in South Africa are only stupid. Looking to the the website of the oversees site and as you said for years on, with no problems, but only 39 people like it out of a membership of 194,418. Yes as they say in South Africa one death is one death to much. Sorry Sofistikitty there must be many more people to have grievance with it before somebody would remove it.
Good to see the buttons have now been moved to an area where they are less likely to do "inadvertent" harm....

All good and well, but it stays on the newsfeed.
