Why we hate for getting to know couples
We understand that is a convenient tool for chatting to people but the more we have used it to get to know couples the more we hate it. We have been meaning to put thoughts to paper and have finally gotten around to doing it. Here's why we hate it with some real messages to demonstrate our point.
Firstly, there is the spelling.
In this day and age of predictive text do you really need to say "Hw r u"? Even worse is when they say "Hw r use". We don't mind Lol and some abbreviations but sometimes it gets a bit much

We realise that this is the connected generation but is it okay to message people at 6am or 11pm at night and expect an immediate response?

This couple we actually met for drinks and chatted quite a bit but when we messaged them about going to Liza's they had no idea who we were:

Good laugh, but under no circumstances, before we met and knew you better, would we give our cell phone to anyone. That's the reason why adm so strict on putting mail or phone numbers in your profile description or any message

I enjoy for it's ease of use. However I totally agree, the lack of spelling and grammar, the idiots that try to fake you out and all the rest, it sometimes make you want to revisit the possibility.
I also have BBM for android and that seems to be a better option, as I can just get rid of the people I don't want to talk to and they don't have my number to pester me.

Plus of course you never know if they're posting their number or that of someone else.
Warming the Bed
I totally understand where so many people are coming from when it comes to the whole thing. We once tried to make people we connected with use as its a platform that uses usernames opposed to cell numbers. For some odd reason people thought we were just trying to be difficult. The last thing any of us need is a stalker right. Then we we tried for installing 2 whatsapps on a single device so we could have one naughty number. That didn't work so we just gave up I guess. I do believe that has a vital role in getting to know people. I just wish people were willing to try Apps that are less intrusive.

I totally agree. is kinda personal for me, friends and family use it too. For meeting or talking to the SH community I would suggest to download BBM on iOS or Android as you do not need to give your phone number out to anyone. Just give your BBM pin. If the chat dies or does not work out just delete the contact.
We had a very smooth "Single" guy chat with us, made plans to meet. He had to cancel due to work commitments.
As his cell number was connected to his facebook, his profile popped up with his smilling face next to his happy wife and kids.
I messaged him and asked if his wife was single as well, got a reply using every swearword in the book, and blocked us on SH.
