Hi guys I'll be travelling for work to JHB shortly (NB not looking for meets as I'll be on my own!) I'm looking for good quality bnb type accomodation inbetween Sandton and Edenvale (I want to be halfway between the places I need to go to) Any suggestions? If you have contact info for places please PM it to me
hi lee the commute between edenvale and sandton is not that far the only central place is alex and u dont want to be u dont need your car in sandton might i suggest a place in kempton .its 5min from the rhodesfield gautrain station and is about 10 min from place is called manour house on pamona road.
Thanks ash, but I think you missed the point smile I want to find a place between the two because that will be between my two destinations. I have ABSOLUTELY no intention of joining any of the crazy smog dwellers in their commute! When I said between I was really thinking Waverley, Highlands North, Atholl, Lyndhurst or thereabouts.... I know the area quite well as I grew up there - though it's a real bugger when someone goes and puts a bluddy fence across the road (pisses off my gran so much!) Only silly tourists with crappy GPS's would travel from Sandton to Edenvale through Alex!! lol Kempton? Dude! why would I travel so far if I need to be in Sandton and Edenvale daily? How do I get from Sandton to Edenvale without a car? WAit a minute.... Are you trying to hypnotise with traffic me into renewing my Joburg citizenship? I live on a FARM! you can't do that to a farm dweller! :haha: No, that's just mean! Send the out-of-towners on a 4 and half hour commute! mean mean mean  But I will say that you get 200 points for TRYING to be helpful - no one else has got any yet so you definately are the winner so far...
Lee Lyndhurst is pretty central, try the following: I don't know it or recommend it but fits your area. Also: Good luck. Welcome to the Big Smoke.
, i always find this website very helpful , you can search by B&B , Self Catering , area specific
Lee try 10 Stirling in Waverley/ Bramley. Take care, I&S
We are not between Sandton and Edenvale, however, I (Mrs Cat) would be happy to be your chauffeur for the duration of your stay and you would be welcome to stay with us (in our spare room) which would save you a bit of money. The "down side" is that you would have to meet us lol .....we stay in Randburg...

Good one Mrs Cat! This is real swinging hospitality - LeeEC, you can strongly consider this invitation especially the chauffeur that goes with the invite!
It doesn't matter from where you travel in JHB and area the traffic jams are all over the place!
@ Lee, I think that NawtyCat`s invite is very sincere and they will not try and do things that makes you uncomfortable, and yes it is a nice way to meet they you. Down side is that area means that there is a bit more traveling. Mr and Mrs Nawty , I think your invite shows you are real people and NICE people at that.
Thanks all guys Most appreciative of all the suggestions - I have found a great place (which happens to have been recomended by an SH member) and I will be very sorted there - their web site and service so far looks amazing and it's exactly where I want to be smile Shot for Chauffering offer, but I do actually like driving around the smoggy place... I have found a place right around the corner from my childhood home so a chance to visit the old stomping ground! Excellent stuff guys Thanks so much!
Thanks for the nice compliments everyone! And, yes our offer was sincere! Have a safe and good trip, LeeEC.
Glad you found a place Lee! Always interesting to go back to where you grew up and see how the place has changed (like your childhood home having been painted bright pink!) I also want to compliment Mr and Mrs Nawty on their offer. Nice to see people trying to reach out to each other sincerely.

Gosh that must have been a shocker for you.... lol
Happily my family still own the place and I'm fairly certain no one has had any grand painting ideas lately....
Thanks all
I'm now locking this thread smile
