So unless you were digitally crippled the last 2 days...you had to see the Margaret Van Wyk incident. Poor, POOR Margaret posted a rather naughty pic accidentally to her daughter's hockey group on ...somebody took a screenshot...and she became the hottest thing on social media since Caster.

Despite the hilarious memes...this got me thinking.

Has anyone else made the same mistake? Has a pic in a wrong group or something similar actually outed your lifestyle to friends and...Thor forbid...family? How did you handle it?

We check...and double check...before we post anything. Lol...because of Margaret.

I simply don't keep those kinds of pics on a phone. Mostly because I have teenage children, but yes, also because to er is human.

.... and my kids are my IT experts when something goes wrong on my phone and needs attention....!!

I personally think she should start taking ownership of it. Hell...do a talk show, lame Huisgenoot article, radio talks. Take it back and be proud of the fact you still do stuff like that...in the right group though.

We do agree!!!

while I almost agree with what has been said about ownership etc etc etc, the bigger picture is still the impact it has on other people . . . . children, husband . . . .

There is something in the concept of "responsibility"

Luckily I've never made a mistake like that, but it is so easy to make.  The pic of MVW was hot though.. Had to dig deep to find it eventually.

Responsibility? Sure...I get that. But-in hindsight- she did immediately explain it was a mistake, and apologized. But...some vindictive bastard still decided to share the screenshot without at least scratching out the group and the members names. I'm thinking Margaret will pay for her mistakes for a while...and the original sharer just might not. Not very fair...
