I took my little boy fishing this weekend and I was told recently about this place. It was a dam, where you could go fishing and there is a few chalets there. From what I heard, the fishing is good there and the place is available to anyone to go there to fish. No fees required. So I took my boy and went. We got to this place and immediately at the entrance, I was stopped. I was told that I can't go through. Only club members are allowed. I thought this was weird, as there were many people there and many of them were from out of town on a getaway with their caravans and tents and the chalets. So naturally I asked how does the club membership work?I was willing to pay. and I was told that I would have to pay a deposit and a monthly fee. So I asked where do I do this? The guy who explained to me that he does not know and could not explain to me where I could find out. I was quite disgusted, as this place seemed to be a nice place, yet I could not go. It was disappointing. I have heard of these type of places, but never knew I would be subject to this at this day and age. Also reminds me of a certain nature resort, I wanted to go to. I phoned there and wanted to book. Wanted to experience the wild animals there. Researched this place and found it to be a beautiful place. When I phoned they told me they fully booked for the next 3 months. I thought it strange. So I got a friend of mine to phone there. They had bookings available immediately for the entire month. Go figure. Really frustrating that there is certain places like that. Wish that there was something that can be done about it.
Certainly some importance there on this topic and a 'can of worms' can be open but we'll just leave it there. It all comes down to the owners of the resorts and their right of admission so I guess we have to just live with it.
If you feel discriminated against report them , hello Peter , consumer watch contact any social media until that place is in the public eye and reforms or shuts of admission my ass thats prejudice .

I will report these places somehow. It just sucks and find it shocking that these places still exist. Just that I did not like the idea of subjecting my boy to this. Imagine having to explain to your child why we cannot go to some places.
I do hate this type of discrimination.I am always shocked to read it still exists. I have found that you get really sad/bad/drunks/drugs/*gagga* people in all stands in life, not just in the ethnic group you are NOT part of. From the very Rich and Cultured to the Uneducated and very Poor is not always skin color. From a sad me today.

I have reported this publicly.
Sad to know that there are still people who are hypocrites living among us.
As for me. I would never support these places, and I will always take it up further.
Just wanted to bring these type of places to your attention.
Good for you, Vee! This discrimination is TOTALLY inappropriate!

you are so right. These places must either reform or close down. Can't believe that some people would want to maintain their ways. They support places like I mentioned. I suppose that is what they teach their children too.
I have named and shamed already. Only I don't think its acceptable to mention on this site. Unless it is?
Any views or opinions on this topic? Let's hear it.
Please inbox me the name of this "fine" establishment I will gladely let all my friends know who to will soon learn the power of social media.
Vee, I know someone who is linked to the Witbank News / Middelburg Observer. Send me the details of the venue, I am reasonably sure they would like to "investigate" a bit

thanks. Sent you mail.
this is sad. where is the right of choice? here at SH we have the right of choice. should that right of choice not be practiced in the general walk of life?
My view is that birds- of a- feather- flock- together and I would prefer NOT going to where I am not welcome! In fact, if places such as resorts etc could be MORE discriminating we would ALL have a MUCH better time!!! Just imagine for example a resort advertising that it caters for blond, playboy bunnies between the ages of 25 and 35 that are nymphos? This may be just "your kinda folk", whose company you will almost certainly enjoy....what a blast!!!! Also, maybe the places WERE being honest??? Be sure of your facts before you slander....in the author's fishing example perhaps it was a swingers camping site and the guard didn't know how to pay membership or join. If the guard had been requested to call one of the members, maybe they would have explained.....Imagine the author's horror if the swingers camping site guard had just let them in and as they drive round an outdoor orgy is in full swing. The author would be writing a VERY different type of story lol If you perceive it, it is real for you...... but what you perceive might not be a fact Food for thought, maybe?

dear Nawty
I have checked my facts before I even put this post on. I assure you that this place is a or menat to be a public place. It is well spoken about by many residents around. When I spoke to my friends who suggested going there, they were shocked and they apologised for not knowing and have said they would not support such a place ever again. The person I spoke to at that place was not a security guard. Probably just an employee there. He was quite knowledgeable about the place.
I have highlighted these places further and it is being investigated.
