Thought we would share some trials and tribulations with you as all the guys are always complaining that couples aren't interested...
Ms PF wants an extra guy to join us so we place an ad. Go through the responses and sift out the duds
Guy 1 - a google search of his email reveals he is on the Top 25 mail spammers list. Scrap that idea
Guy 2 - a google search of his email finds a bunch of ads he placed on cumtree asking for cash in return for sex. MMM no thanks
Guy 3 - meet him for drinks, all keen. But never hear from him again
Guy 4 - stands us up when we arrange to meet
Guy 5 - email him but never hear back
Guy 6 - meet him for drinks. Never hear from him again
Guy 7 - meet him for drinks, all keen. But never hear from him again. Claims to be busy studying
What a lot of PT!
PS: Single guys we aren't looking anymore. We found someone, so no need to contact us
It goes both ways. I talk to a couple and we set up a night to meet for drinks at the Dros, when I ask about confirming out meet in the morning they go silent. I've also been left hanging.
I started oneoff those. No one used it.
Lee where does one find that thread or is it deleted?
As for Internet Identity, there are many people with the exact same names but email addresses and such are unique.
For instance, there must be 100's of thousands of John Smiths in the world but only one: (Example only) or or even They would be three different people. Please make sure you type it correctly.
So as PerfectFit suggested, if you check someone's reputation by using their email address, the results should refer only to that person.
We also use FaceBook to check people out before a meeting, without them knowing, providing they are on FB of course. Even a name as common as john smith can be filtered down if you have an age and area. If they have an unusual name and you have an age and area, you can often still find them. Don't friend them if you don't trust them.
Quite frankly, with what we know now, as there are so many single guys wanting to meet, we wouldn't even bother, unless they sent a pic of their ID or drivers licence.
At one stage, there was a persistent but well mannered "single" guy wanting to meet with us. He was even member verified (by admin only) so we thought we'd give him a chance. Turns out he was hiding it from his girl.
@ Charlieme..
I did and LUCKY for me!!! I got lotsa positive hits..BUT non of them me...and only the *CAT*in boots that I am actually named after.... yeah yeah I know everyone thought I was named after something ELSE....they are so wrong......
@pf...not all guys r like that...u cant judge us all if u dnt talk to all...
So rather say those guys weren't fo u...and dnt make it even worse for the single guya..its hard enuf...
Sorry. Not an attack..more a request.
@pf Next time you're on holiday in Knysna, I'd be more than willing to meet you.
@undercover - not judging just laying out the facts as we experienced them. If we try 10 guys and our response rate is 0 we aren't exactly inclined to talk to 100 guys just to get one interested guy.
@Jeff sorry we don't play with married guys
Seems like there are more big talk guys then those who follow through.
There are a number of decent guys on this site. I think it's more a case of learning how to identify those that are not big talkers. I believe and it has been my experience (with guys, girls and couples) that the fantasy is more appealing than the reality.
I my self, have met and played with some great couples from this site
*wink @k_c
Just my 2c worth
It seems to me that based on the number of profiles and ads that includes the line "PLEASE NO SINGLE GUYS" that there are a lot of single guys who end up making a nuisance of themselves.
What do you think about the idea which I've seen elsewhere that beyond creating a profile and placing ads they should not be allowed to approach anybody. Couples or single women can browse through the available options and make the initial approach. This would certainly reduce the amount of stupid bumbling approaches they receive. Of course after the initial approach the couple or single female can go through their normal vetting process. If the guy is a no show or proves unreliable or a chancer there could possibly be a mechanism for the couple or single woman to endorse the guys profile. In other words those guys that are chancers get a negative rating giving future interested parties a heads up as it were.
Not ideal and I'm sure that if it were to be implemented a bit more thought might have to go into it to avoid potential abuse.
But preventing single guy approaches might make others' experience a bit more pleasurable. Let's face it there're plenty single guys on here. Couples and single ladies are spoilt for choice. I mean it may be a poor analogy but the way it operates now is almost like, instead of going to the SPCA to choose a new pet the people wanting a new pet are put on display and all the dogs running up and down barking trying to catch the eye of a potential new owner.
Just an idea. But it seems to me a logical solution to the problem.
