Curious about something poppoing up in profiles

Lately I've started noticing people aying that they can only "send a limited number of messages" or that they are not "paid up" members.

Have any of you noticed it as well? I have been on the site for quite some time and I have never had to pay a subscruptuon feee and I am not limited to the amount of messages I can send.

What is going on?

The way I understand it...speaking under correction...the site started charging for some features? Some profiles won't notice this, because we've been here for that long. Considering all the inactive profiles...maybe not a bad call.

True. 

I sometimes feel that profiles that have been inactive for a certain amount of time should perhaps be archived but then again its a numbers game, the more profiles you have, the better the site appears to be.

We personally will take a few well written, completed and active profiles over the endless half-assed attempts. Almost certain people won't mind paying a bit it it means more hits from genuine users. But yeah...lol...glad we stuck it out the past 5 years.

You're correct.  New members joining now still get a free (but very basic) membership, with restricted facilities such as only being able to send the "limited number of messages" - partly this is to limit spammers who joined with a new profile every day, and sent hundreds of messages before being banned.  Paid membership comes with a lot more privileges. And those of us who were already members before the pay-option came into effect, still enjoy the full benefits for free...
