I am intrigued by some of the comments in the quick messages block beneath profiles. Some are so crude and baseless, often just one liners - I am wondering if the writer actually thinks that he will get a response. Are they that naive to think that people on this site just want to get laid - I have seen "more spadework" done by Johns to prostitutes.
But the icing on the cake are the crude, baseless messages riddled with spelling errors...

Only too true, and in a close second on the "Quick Messages" is the requests for pics

I fully agree with both sensual_male and redbruce, there seems to be a tendency to wards crude and pointless messages. They are also not really practical as redbruce says in that you have to check your profile to view them.
After receiving some strange and sometimes abusive comments in our quick messages, we decided to disable them, as they seem to only be used by those throwing as may sticks on the fire as possible and hoping one will ignite.
Should you wish to disable your "Quick Messages" go to setting on your account select the privacy tab and un-check the last box listed under privacy settings. (Display Quick Comments - choose to display your quick comments on your profile).
We no longer have to bother checking our profile for messages and it forces an interested party to that the time to mail us with what we hope would be something more interesting. (Not that that's really working but like like I said, we live in hope).

Great replies from Mike_, redbruce and from sensual for instigating it. If my memory serves me on other SH Sites if a fellow member leaves a comment on your profile, you'd have to approve it prior to it showing on yours ?

Irish yes you correct and about a year ago Admin said in this forum that they busy upgrade this site and then it would work the some as the overseas sites.
How long there year are, we don't know, but we can only hope.
This was not the first tread on it, but it could be on the Mods lounge perhaps, still in my time as a Mod
