Well I don't have a Credit card so that leaves me out.
not to be funny, but (you guys are probably bored with this) in the going one 11 years of swinging and meeting people through it and now going on 20 years of meeting people from the net, the sites that worked the best were all free sites.
The problems that are referred to will not be fixed with making this a pay site, the swingers sites that are pay sites (and we have been on the well known ones for extended periods) have the same problems, just magnified. People for some reason think that because they paid to be members they are now ENTITLED and GUARANTEED to meet people purely for sex without having made any previous contact, if you tell them that from profile you are not interested they take exception as they have PAID to meet you and PAID to have sex with you, that entitlement perception is even stronger and therefore much worse when meeting someone in person as they then have that same attitude but directly in your face - basically they see it as a brothel setup BUT with membership fee for a year and therefore unlimited access at the price of going to a brothel once or twice. There has not been a single exception of the above on any paid site that we have been members of.
The free sites that we have been members of have with a few exceptions not had the issue that I described above, the best two sites that we have been members of have both been free sites, this one is included in the best two.
I must add that the other free site did go out of business, with about 15 000 members the revenue generated from adds (very small number of advertisers) was minimal, so to expect the owners of this site to carry it indefinitely is unreasonable. I don't think anyone would mind banner ads or advertising of services or goods, in fact it may well make life easier for those that want to buy things but don't want to go into sex stores. To be honest this is a niche market that has yet to be exploited (but not abused).
On that basis if this were to become a paid site, we would see how it goes, but to be honest and from our previous experiences, would probably leave it after a few months
Ok, but I didn't indicate which issues I was talking about and THOSE were not them. I don't have an issue with people being obnoxious on the site. People are obnoxious in real life. I don't expect them to behave any differently given a free niche semi-anonymous platform to interact with others.
The issues I was talking about are technical site platform related.
Oh and btw if you were not aware there are 5 SH sites, most of them are paid sites for other countries. This is how SH S.A. is able to run free, I expect.
@playcouple I'm sorry you've had such crappy experiences on paid sites, but our experience doesn't match yours either. I've dealt with far more abuse here than on any of the paid sites we belonged to. Though I will admit we've also connected with more people here. And being a site designer in a past life, I've come up with so many tweaks that I think would seriously improve this site (including minimizing a lot of the interaction issues many of you have here), I've even considered starting my own site but ham-strung by my outdated programming skills... I haven't pursued it...
Where do you find a good programmer who is also a swinger-positive person? *sigh*

My response is based on my experience in the lifestyle as a single male. I also belong to the uk version which is a paid site.
I feel that alot of the single male issues will be resolved and numbers reduced. This entails only leaves serious single males, those actually wanting to be a part of the lifestyle vs quick fuck mentality.
Paying will not guarantee a higher success rate if you an arsehole but it will eliminate the riff raff.
No matter what Swinging Site you're on all end up charging for " Extras" or " Supporter " features - this ultimately funds the running of the Site.
With all Sites, you get from it what you put into it - in my experience these total free Sites end up being badly run under developed with some very basic features.
Take a look at this Site and the features on it or indeed any of the other SH sites around the world that exist today and compare them to other Sites you're a member of. SH Sites are by far superior

I'm curious about a free to play model. The main features are free but if you want a less intrusive SH watermark on pics or changing your theme colour those are chargeable extras. If the site is successful people will pay in for the extras. Also if you see a profile with 3 or more albums etc you will see who is paying in and is serious etc.
I would gladly pay for something I use and enjoy. I think it is wonderful that Swing Heaven is free of charge and we have a lot of conveniences.I also think that using Swing Heaven and NOT be positive and try and make it a good site, and just using it because it is free is wrong......one should always try and give back a little of what one takes.
I think we do not thank the site owners enough for the fun they allow us to create and enjoy here.
I know a few people who wanted to start a sex/swinger/dating site and it is NOT an easy thing to sites fail than what they grow.
I would not say the paying sites is bad.
The one`s I am on, I think is GREAT SITES.
If anyone think a paying site is only for the SERIOUS couples and unmarried swingers ,They are making a BIG mistake, on pay sites the married singles are just as plentiful as here. and YES there are also a lot of bullshitters on pay sites.
Should a site be started and it is VERY selective or vetted on who they allow, it is also going to fail big time.
I do however not know the international sites of SH you guys are speaking of.I do how ever belong to a few other international sites(paid sites as well) on which I have made great friends.

We found that paying or free the ratio's stay the same.
As for the earlier comment about getting rid of the riffraff, doesn't happen, the riffraff are the ones that then feel they have paid so they are entitled to have the women rolling over thighs spread at their (the riffraff's) whim.
