Look8ng for a place to purchase a cane. Like they used on us at school. On the internet they are tory overpriced. Will be in PTA end of the month.
If you do buy one, try and get a rattan cane. It is a little more flexible which helps with control and how the cane acts when it impacts. Stiff canes like bamboo or dowels will break and it also focuses the energy on a very localised area as it does not bend.
Thinner canes are "stingy", the pain is sharp and on the surface. Thicker canes are "thudy" and tend to leave a deeper pain.
You could always try to find a willow tree, cut some branches and experinent with sizes and thickness. Willow tend to retain a bit of spring once dried.
